WOUNDING A DETECTIVE
BAKER FOUND GUILTY

SYDNEY, February 28. 1 The man Baker, who was charged with ' wounding Detective Tooinoy, of BrisJ 1 bane, with intent to murder, on the night of the Commonwealth; inauguration, has boon found guilty,'with a recommendation to mercy, on the. ground of the wrong which he . considered he was suffering under. Baker made a statement that Toomey got him sentenced in Queensland, although ho knew he was innocent. The death sentence was passed.
