PERSONAL.
Tho Premier and Mrs Seddon returno 1 to Wellington from Nelson yesterday. At last- night’s meeting of the City Council, the Mayor moved that leave of absence bo given to Councillor Townseiid from the night’s meeting on, account o'f the death of his father, and also that a vote of condolence with him in his loss be passed. He further moved that a vote of sympathy with the lion F. H. Fraser in ms severe illness be conveyed to that gentleman. Mr Fraser had been a member of the Council for years, and be was glad to say that from information which he bad received that evening ho learnt that he was better. It was now hoped that Mr Fraser was on the fair way to recovery. Both motions were carried.
