EVENING ENTERTAINMENTS

PEPPER’S GHOST COMPANY. The entertainment given by Northcote’s Pepper’s Ghost Company was repeated at the Opera House last mght ; in the- presence of a good audience. Uickens’s “Christmas Carol,’’ with spectrescope effects, is certainly an excellent production. The musical specialities introduced by the Misses Beresford and Octavia were well received, and Leno s juggling was a clever performance. Lb® entertainment closed with a farce.- The programme will be repeated to-night.

At the Theatre Royal last evening; three additions-were made to the Dix Gaiety Company, the Misses Eileen Boyd, Gladys Benth and Marie Bovnton. Tho child wonder was enthusiastically received, her queer dances and quaint' coon songs being as pleasing as, they were on her first appearance in Weilington. Miss Gladys Beuth sang her songs artistically, hut was handicapped by a slight hoarseness. She showed a clever turn for dancing; Miss Boynton had a good reception for her vocal contributions

The Olioral Hall last ; night held a large audience, who received, with -approval the entertainment provided; by the Fuller Bijou Company. Miss Katie Lynn’s interpretation of “Alone on the Raft” was vociferously applauded. The ivyrioramic pictures incidental to the song were, excellent. Mr, Fred Bluett (the comedian) evoked smiles, laughs and'sereams according to the disposition of his listeners. The remaining members of the company all did well. -
