DREDGING RETURNS

PHESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, February 24. The following dredging returns are reported for the week :

With respect to the Nekon Creek dredge it may be stated that the West Coast dredgemaster does not,wash up till late on Saturday, and the return does not reach the secretary till Monday. GREYMOUTH, February 24. Tho Grey River dredge, which is still in inferior ground, washed up 1402 for 106 hours’ work. The Leviathan dredge washed up 14oz 12dwt for 91 hours’ work. This dredge now cleans up on Friday instead of Saturday. Tho Builcr Junction dredge got 40oz for 116 hours’ work, and the Beeves Proprietary Uoz Bdwt for 115 hours. No other returns are in. WESTPORT, February 23. The return from the Britannia Quartz Mine, north of Westport, is 1490 z retorted gold from 68 tons stone. GREYMOUTH, February 24. The Recfton gold returns are:Keep-it-Dark (for February)—Battery, 2060 z gold from 950 tons; cyanide, 120 oz gold; total, 3260 z. Kirwan’s Reward, 460 z gold from 406 tons. WESTPORT, February 24. Tho Mokoia dredge had her main shaft .slightly bent; it will be repaired in the morning, and the dredge will be at work by about Thursday. When working gold was showing on the tables.
