PKEBS ASSOCIATION. NEW PLY-MOUTH, February 2d. The body of a man named J. b. Tfai t. who was drowned at Moturoa on Sunday was recovered this morning about fifty yard-3 from the scene of the accident. His companion made desperate attempts to save him,: but it is assumed that; his head was dashed against a rock as ho sank. ,
At tho inquest'a verdict of accidental death was returned', with a rider suggesting the* erection of a, warning board at tin spot. There was : a largo attendance v a’ the funeral, which was a. military one.
An inquest was held at Wai wetn on Saturday) afternoon by Mr .lames Ashcroft, District Coro rer, on the body of Alexander Gordon ■who died ns a result of an epileptic fit on the previous afternoon. Tho evidence showed that deceased, who was 27 years of ago, had been for some lime sub iect to fits. He had had three seizures o? Friday lust. Towards half-past fom o’clock he went to a, paddock to get soim of his ernployar’s mili-li cows. Owing tc his continued absence a fellow employe' mimed Willintn Brant 'became' alarmed and went to look for him. He found Gordon Iving face downwards in a dry ditch with his legs- in'tho air. The jar* returned a verdict in accordance* with th* evidence. , . .
