Five hundred Boers who had taken refuge in Portuguese territory have been transported to Lisbon. The steamer City of iGo do Janeiro struck a ledge of rock at the entrance to San Francisco harbour, and sank in fifteen minutes. 150 persons being drowned. A Chinese Imperial edict has been, issued ordering the preparation of the Imperial Palace and the Forbidden City for the return of the Court to Pekin at the end of March.
