SWIMMING.
The Thorndon Amateur Swimming Club has drawn up a very attractive programme for its spurts, which are to be field at the Thorndon Baths on Saturday next. The chief attraction will be the appearance of M. E. Champion, New Zealand representative at the recent Australasian championships. Competitors from all parts of the colony are competing, and a good afternoon's sport should be witnessed. Tickets are obtainable from the secretary, Mr A. J. Styles, and members of the cimmittee.
The Wellington Club last evening decided tbe first distance, 100 yards, for the President's Cup. Tfie result was as follows: —Rawson, 1; Gray. 2; Roberts, 3; Styles. 4. Five others also started. The second distance is to be determined on Monday evening.
