ON Monday the city will have the hon- • our of entertaining the selected representatives of the IndiAn Army. Rissaldars, Duffadars. Subadahrs and Jemadars will jostle one another in their picturesque uniforms and elegant turbans, for they are mostly officers and non-commis-sioned officers. Care must he taken that their caste prejudices are respected, and it would be as well to keep away from their camp kitchen. In all other respects they will be found jovial chaps, ready to be amused. His Worship the Mayor will be spared the trouble of a- long speech and windy politicians should try and remember that the Indian Tommy, like his British colleague, has a righteous horror of speeches especially the kind that is made up of hysterical loyalty. The Indian troops are loyal enough, and they have Droved it in mauv a frontier fight. We hope the people of Wellington will give the Indian troops a hearty' welcome. They deserve it quite as much as Crease s A 1 Jam which is daily welcomed in the homes of rich and poor. Crease’s A 1 Jam is made in Wellington. It is made of pure fruit and crystal sugar, and is made right. All tins full weight. 81 rpHE PLACE TO BIT 1 ? IRONMONGERY, REGISTER GRATES.
