CRICKET
The Senior Championship matches. Old Boys v. Phoenix and Midland v. Wellington, will be resumed on the Basin Reserve this afternoon. The Wellington team will be deprived of the services of F. Ashbolt, owing to his having been called away to Hawera on urgent business. The Ices is peculiarly unfortunate for Wellington, seeing that Ashbolt was one of the not-out men, and also that he was in fine bowling form. ■ This afternoon the collection hoses will be again in evidence at the gate, and it is hoped by the Cricket Association that a more liberal response will be made by the public cn. this occasion than was the case last Saturday. ; j-
