PERSONAL.
Tho Hon. J. Carroll, representing tho Ministry, will moot his Excellency the Governor at Napier on Tuesday next, arid will accompany him on ids trip through tho Urewera country. They proceed to Wairoa by tho first boat, and will travel thence to Waikaiomoana, Ruatahuna, Galatea and Rotorua. A stay of one day will he madei at Wairoa, and loyal addresses will be delivered, but there will be no banquet, owing to the period of Court mourning. Wairoa people are making arrangements to give Ids Excellency a fitting reception. A telegram from Gisborne on Tucsdity recorded the finding of tho graves of Captains Carr and Canning in Poverty Bay. Captain Praece, now in Palmerston North, states that ho commanded tho forces of which those officers were members. They were killed in August, 1868, at Ruakituri. The bodies were recovered and buried in January, 1869. Captain Preeco in 1872 placed a brass plate bearing the names of the officers over tho grave. He has a clock presented to him by Captain Carr’s father in recognition of the work.
