In. the Magistrate’s Coin I yesterday Thomas Hemy Mabin was charged with criminally libelling Osmond 11. ilcndall. Mr Mentcath appeared for the prosecution. The defendant conducted hisow.i case. Evidence was given in support of the information, The defendant made ;! a statement to the Magistrate alleging justification. He intimated that he would call Detective Campbell raid another witness at the Supreme Court sittings. The defendant was committed .for trial, hail being allowed in two sureties of £SO and the defendant’s own bond of £IOO.
