A disastrous fire occurred at Feilding ou. Thursday night. Dissatisfaction exists in. regard to the political situation in New South Wales. The drought has desolated the Maranoa district of Queensland. Ticks are reappearing in the Brisbane district, Queensland.
General Botha has made an appeal to his. followers never to surrender. The cruisers Good Hope and Bacchante and the battleship Russell have been launched.
General French is hard pressing General Botha's main body, which comprises four thousand men.
Major-General Plumor is following Da Wqt and compelling him to turn north towards Griqnaland West. Sir Alfred Milner's salary as Administrator of the new South Africa Colonies will be .£BOOO, and as High Commissioner .£3OOO.
New Zealand is being asked to send a thousand troops, half of them to be Mabris, to the opening of tlie Federal Parliament.
