By the AVaihora, from Sydney yesterday, Messrs AlcGuire and U’Aleara, M.H.R.’-s, Sir Kenneth Douglas and Lieut.-Colonel Collins, who had been attending the Commonwealth celebrations, returned to AYellington.

At tho New Zealand Farmers’ Dairy Union Factory last night Air W. hi. Bendall was the recipient of a puree of sovereigns from the employees and staif of Alessrs Badham and Biss in view of his approaching marriage. The presentation was made by Air Pyke. Among the members of the Sixth New Zealand Contingent, about to leave tor South Africa, is Mr Louis William Blundell, whose father, the latd Air Henry Blundell, will be remembered for his connection with the Wellington Guards, as well as for his public spirit.
