The water if to be obtained froin the Upper Mangapapa A small concrete dam is to be throwr across the creek, and the water led out into the mains. Samples of the watei from this spot were taken and will be analysed. A good spot has been choser for the reservoir, and the mains will bf taken along McLean street into the town, the distance being 120 chains. It is pro posed to construct a 100,000 gallon tank. PALMERSTON NORTH. At the monthly meeting of the A. and P. Association. Mr Pirani. M.H.R.. applied for the use of the show ground in the event of the Imperial troops visiting this town. The request was granted, no charge being made for the ground. The Borough Council has decided toemploy Mr Mestayer to tbo construction. of the outfall at the river, and the connecting drains to Sbortt street, across the show ground to Featherston street along the latter street to Rangitikei street, thence to Cuba street, and along Main street and Church street. The construction of the subsidiary drains will be under the supervision of Mr Bastin. inspector of works.
