YACHTING.
The annual regatta of tho Port Nicholson Yacht Club, to be hold on Anniversary Day , (next Tuesday) promises to b« highly Successful. The entries include the yachts Waitangi, Rainbow, Hona. Martina, Muritai, Siren. Atalanta. 31a. wliiti, Kotin, Kdtuku, Ruru, Arawa, Dauntless, Maroro, and four naval cutters. With the course as it is—declared by experts to be one of the best south of the line—it is anticipated that a very close race will result between Waitangi and Rainbow in the principal event. Tho number of entries is most gratifying, being, in tho second-class yachts, the largest number ever received. Doubtless the handsome prizes offered have Ifl'en the means of inducing the large number of aquatic enthusiasts to compote. Nearly £IOO is to be given away in prizes, the principal yachting event absorbing iliailf of this sum. It is probable the Takapuua will accompany the chief sailing races.
