CAPTURE OE THE CRIMINAL. (■Received January 18, 11 0 p.m.) LONDON, January 18. An ex-soldier named Hill shot and killed an elderly farmer named Pearson in the lavatory compartment on one of the South Western trains, near Surbiton, Surrey. He then shot in Hie ebeek a widow, wise was the only other passenger. Hill rifled Pearson’s body, and then jumped from the train as it entered V-nix hall. The widow, vlio had feigned death, gave the alarm, and the murderer was arrested, after an exciting chase.
