YACHTING.
The yacht Waitangi, though off Wellington Heads on Monday night, was compelled to return to' Lyttelton, which port she made yesterday morning. YV hen the yacht got across the Straits she could not pick up the light owing to thick weather. With, the elements against her and with the larder quite empty, dt was decided to return to Lyttelton. On Monday she was fer a time in tho company of the Rainbow, but when darkness set in the two boats became separated. , „
The yacht Mapu returned to Wellington last night from the Sounds. She reports .the Rainbow to be in Cloudy Bay.
