THE BUBONIC PLAGUE.
SYDNEY, July U. Dr Ashburton Thompson, president of the Board of Health, says the discovery made by an Adelaide doctor as to the effects .of the swallowing of the plague prophylactic is not new, and in cases where it is applied only an evanescent immunity is obtained. The experiments made in Adelaide appear ito him to have been crude, and he thinks the results ought to have been exhaustively tested before the matter was made public.
