SOME BRITISH CASUALTIES.
CAPETOWN, February 26. Twenty more Canadians than those already reported—i ; e., 69 besides 20 killed—were wounded in the early part of the attack on Cronjo’s position. Major de Montmorency (leader of the corps formed in Cape Colony, and known as Montmorency’s Scouts), and Lieut.Colonel F. IT. Hoskier (of the 3rd Battalion of the Middlesex Volunteer Artillery), were killed when reconnoitring at Storm berg, on tho East London-Ali-wal North railway. (Received February 27, 10.46 p.m.) SVDNEY, February 27. Admiial Pearson, commanding liic Australian squadron, has received a. cable message announcing the death of his eldest son, Lieutenant Pearson, at Ladysmith from typhoid fever.
