Blaekcy (three- for 45) howled well for the Valley, which made 52 runs in its first innings (E. Boulton 12 and W. Harris 10). For Pliomix Goo. Harris took six wickets foi 24 runs and Hickey four for 27. The Phoenix second innings realised - 8;f runs (Hickey- 23, Cooke- 20 and. Miller 14). For Iforokiwi Milica took two wickets for IS runs, C. Blackey two for 22, D. Harris three for 29 and W. Blackey one for 12. The country team requiring 122 runs to win made 5tJ in its secoijd innings (O. Blackey 25, W. Harris 13), thus leaving the town team victorious by 65 runs. Miller took four wickets for 2 runs, Hickey four for 25 and Mifhvard two for 20. The- visiting ilaycrs were hospitably entertained by the neiubers of the Iforokiwi Valiev Club, who made the game a thoroughly enjoyable one. A match wos' played at the Wniwctu Cricket Club’s ground. Lower Ilutt, yesterday between a team from the Wellington Club and (ho H'utt Valley Assoeiati.on re.prf.senlativcs. The game, resulted in a. win for fho Hull. Valley team by 14 runs on (he first innings, the. scores being—Hutt Valley, M 3 (Ifrico 55, F. Judd, Berntsßii am! Burns 1G each; \V. Pringle 10): Wellington, 131 (Weybourne 51, Gore 30, Crombie 11). Barber (eight for 11) bowled well for the winners and D.. Niven (eight for 34) for the, losers. Tim Wellington, team were most hospitably entertained.
