YORKSHIRE SOCIETY’S PICNIC.
Despite the boisterous and threatening weather a full hundred members of tlie Yorkshire Society and their friends journeyed to Boss’s gardens, Lower Hurt, yesterday for their annual picnic, and enjoyed themselves in a. thoroughly characteristic ffishiont Two cricket matches, in which”both sexes participated, created amusement a.nd_ enthusiasm. A children’s sports programme called forth keen competition. The following were the winners of the various events;-—Sack Bace—Harry Brown, 1; Elton Christie, 2. Plat Bace (girls un,der 10) —Lillie. Trevor, 1;, Vera Hunter, 2. Three-legged Bace—Ted Howlett and W. Skelley, 1; Elton Christie and A; Chapman, 2. Skipping'Bace—Nellie Hunt, I; May Bold,, 2. ;FM Bace (boys under six)—Ernie Trevor,‘I s ; Boy Chapman, 2. Flat Bace (girls under 14)— Agnes Charlesworth, 1; Nelli© Bold, 2. Wheelbarrow Race—T. Howlett and W. Skclly, 1; Geo; Howlett and H. F. Browne. 2.
