PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The body of the boy Percy' Horniblow, who was drowned at Sninner last week, has been recovered bv a fisherman. DtINEDIN, Monday. : Mrs Jessie Burt, aged 50, died suddenly' y'esterday from heart disease. While two men named Britlenden and Bert Kenton were yachting at Hamilton Buy, lower harbour, a sudden squall capsized (heir vessel. A fisherman named Larkins observed tho accident, and was able to rescue Brittenden. Kenton,-who was sixteen years of age, was drownejj. His body has been recovered". CARTERTON, Monday. Mr Alfred Hickson,died suddenly yesterday afternoon. He had been ailing for a'few days. He had been in the colony some 50 years. BURNED TO DEATH. - AUCKLAND. Monday. A ten-roomed house in the Kingslaml road was burned to the ground last night. There is no water supply in the district, and nothing was saved. William Bird, an old man, a cripple, aged 75. who stopped in the house with liis son. was burned to death. He was taken out of the house three or four times by his daughter-in-law, hut returned on each occasion. Bird, who rented the house, had the furniture insured for .£IOO in the Law, Union, and Crown office. Mrs Murdoch had the house insured for -A2BOO in the South British. . • v
