REVELATIONS FOR DREYFUS.
AUTHORITIES IMPARTIAL. CRUELTY AT DEVIL S ISLAND. PARIS, Tuesday. It has transpired that Dreyfus imagined until this week that General do Boisdeffiro, formerly Chief of tho General Staff, had secured the revision of his sentence. Dreyfus never heard of Colonel Picquart until Madame Dreyfus explained that officer's position in the case. The police have destroyed violent antiJowish placards which wore distributed and posted about- Rennes, tho town where tho new trial is to be held. General Galiffet, Minister of AVar, has stopped the promotion of two army officers who had intimidated witnesses in tho Dreyfus case. (Received July 6, 1 a.in.) PARIS, Wednesday. Dreyfus told his wife during an interview that while ho was suffering from fever on Devil’s Island, m September, 1896, he was handcuffed and chained to his bed. This continued for two months, his gaolers hoping to cause his death; but he was resolved to live. Owing to tiie many letters which were sent him being withheld, for six months ho imagined he was forsaken.
