SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE.
THE FIRST PORT OF GALL. STRATFORD FAVOURS AUCKLAND. PRESS ASSOCIATION. STRATFORD, Saturday. At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last night, it was resolved to join with the Auckland Chamber in protesting strongly against the division of the port of call for the San Francisco mail steamers between Auckland and Wellington. as being injurious to the interests of Taranaki and of shipping between New Plymouth and Onehunga, and as a scheme' that would practically shunt Taranaki on a side line dependent on Wellington. A copy of the resolution is to be sent to the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and Postmaster-General,
