The younger brother of the present Commander-in-Chief, Major-General Sir George Wolseley, K.C.8., if he does not figure prominently in the public eye is nevertheless a distinguished soldier. He has a great reputation in India, where he served through the Indian Mutiny and the Afghan and Burmese campaigns, and he now occupies the important post of District . Commander at Lahore, in the Punjab. Sir George is a keen sportsman.
