Tho majority of the horses engaged at the A'.R.O. Autumn Meeting, which commences on Saturday, are in splendid condition, the exception being Heretic, who displays symptoms of soreness. The judges by a majority decided that the horse Osborne was entitled to the stakes (Sir George Clifford . dissenting). Fresh • evidence was adduced' as to Brown’s bona tides and ownership of the horse. The judges were unanimously of opinion that the rules' relating to ownership and nomination of horses should be revised. Mr J. A. Cook, of Dunedin, was unable to attend at the sitting, and Sir George Clifford was appointed to act in his place.
