Monday February 27. (Before His Honor the Chief Justice.) AmiOATXONS YOU. DISCHARGE. John Smyth, for whom Mr Tripp appeared. explained in reply to the Official Assignee that he had Jil 4s a week to live on. He had to pay .hi a week towards the support of his wife, and had also to maintain three children. Discharge granted. An application for discharge by Walter Jones Astrill was granted. Jacob Morris, represented by Mr Young, based his application for discharge upon domestic affliction and consequent falling off in business. The Official Assignee said he was not satisfied with the bankrupt’s explanation. There was a deficiency unaccounted for. The applicant said he would swear positively that neither stock nor money had been put by. The order of discharge was suspended for six months. Mr Young appeared in support of an application by Eugene McCarthy, a married man, who had been a temporary Government clerk. The debtor owed J 2154, but said he expected some assistance in discharging his liabilities. Discharge granted, operation of the order to be suspended until debtor paid 5s in the ■£. Mr Hadfleld appeared in support of an application by C. J. Olivercrona. Messrs Y oung, Tolhurst and Myers opposed debtor’s discharge. After discussion, the application was adjourned till next sittings. Mr Hindmarsh, who appeared in support of an application by Wm. Klein, fish-dealer and restaurant-keeper, stated that debtor was unable to follow his ordinary occupation, and the business he had adopted merely paid rent and immediate expenses. Discharge granted, conditionally on payment of 5s in the .£. APPROVAL OF COMPOSITION. The compensation of W. J. Wyllie, for whom Mr Myers appeared, was approved by the court; so also was that of J. W. Hope, represented by Mr Young. ORDER YOB COSTS. His Honor made an order in W. G. Emcny’s case subject to taxation. . PUBLIC EXAMINATION. : Mr Beero appeared for the debtor Andrew Moran, and Mr Myers for the creditors. The examination was subsequently adjourned till Thursday afternoon. ORDER FOR CONTEMPT OP COURT. ■ An order for committal to prison in the case of W. E. Sanbury was made by His Honor, with the condition attached that it was to lie in court until next sitting. In the meantime the Assignee is to make inquiries about certain furniture he believed belonged to the debtor, , ESTATES RELEASED.
