The total shipment of butter from New Plymouth by the Kotoiti yesterday morning consisted of 10,970 kegs and boxes. The Oonah is establishing for herself the reputation of being the smartest boat in the direct service between Sydney; and Wellington., Her passage across the Tasman Sea, completed at 11.20 a.m. yesterday, was an altogether creditable performance, she having completed the distance (1239 miles) in 3 days 19J hours. Fine weather was experienced on the run oyer. Her cargo consists of 612 tons (including 125 ff-cases fruit), of which 283 tons (including 892 cases of fruit) were for Wellington. The Oonah is timed to leave for the South at 5 p.m. to-day, transhipping passengers and cargo fpr the Bluff, Hobart and Melbourne to the Waikare at Port Chalmers.

Messrs Bannatyne and Co., agents for the steamer Tolosa, chartered by the Tyser Obmpany, advise that that vessel, due at Auckland from Sydney yesterday* will come on, from . the Northern port direct to Wellipgton, and is expected to arrive here on Tuesday next. / After discharging her i inward . cargo she will take in a quantity of cargo for London, including some 4000 cases of preserved meats and 250 casks of pelts. From here the Tolosa proceeds to Lyttelton and/Dunedin (her final port). The.stcamship Adana is to leave Lyttelton af noon to-day for Wellington. After discharging 900 tons of original cargo she , leaves for Auckland. Messrs W, and G. Turnbull and Co. are the local agents. The A. and A.
