At the wool sales brisk competition continues. Merinos are'unchanged and crossbreds are advancing. BUTTER AND CHEESE. Further details of the balance-sheet of the-Union Bank of Australia show that the profit for the half year August, 1893. amounted to , -207,277, against .£72,109 for the previous half year. The deposits amount to £l4 435,717,'as ■Compared with J 15.220,1-61, the advance! and bills to ‘£13,623,697, agdinss £15,017,336, and the cash and available securities to £5,050,039, as against £4,923,455.
