QUARANTINE PRECAUTIONS

The Federal Council, which meets every two years for the purpose or discussing questions ofy colonialinterest, has commenced its sittings, which are expected to. last a week. The principal subject for discussion on this occasion will be tho general quarantine regulations,, and the Hon Air Dickson (Premier of Queensland) has introduced a Bill to protect Australia against exotic diseases by, inaugurating an effective Federal quarantine system. Sir George Turner (Premier of Victoria) i has been elected President.
