(• f • ■: The following are : the results of the races;— ‘ . First-class Yacht Race; open to yaohts of 5-rating and over. Prizos-First, .£10; ' second, JES; third, ,£3.-—Tho only yaohts to start were tho Waitangi (Kirkor) and Mfritana (Martin), the latter having a slight advantage at tho start. The course was a ;rnn down to the Koro Koro buoy., boating ‘ttanoe to a buoy moored off the Pinnacles Kook (ntar Worsen Bayf.and back again to the Queen’s Wharf. The wind falling away when near. Somes Island, . the ' Maritana gave -up. and returned to -the wharf, to start in'the handicap race later on. The Waitangi, however, completed the course in shra Imin 13seo. . Second-class Yaohts; open to yaohts of 2$ and under 5 rating. . Prizes —First; .£lO ■ second, .£5 ; third, JKJ.'—’lhero were seven entries for this race, and a splondid start was ■ effected, tho Bona crossing the line first followed by tbd Atnlanta, Mapu, Mihini and Mawhiti, the three, latter, boats, crossing at precisely the same timo. The omiise in this race was shortened, the boat? only having, to beat up ,-to ' Ward Island instead of the Pinnacles, The following • are the handicaps :—Bona, sor ; Atalanta, 40aec : . Waiwetn, 40sed; Mapu, Imin 22seo; Mahina, 4min 37sec; Mawhiti, YminSsec; Kotiri, 7mia Slsec. There was a very fine finish to this race, only a ’ few seconds dividing the ! Bona from tho Atalanta, the Mahina and Mawhiti, Third and fourth respectively, being closd up. On time allowance the result - was -Mawhiti (Moore), 3hra 30min 54sec, 1; Mahiiia (Pell), 3hrs 28miu 3Sae_o, 2 ; Atalanta (MoOomisb), r. 3hra .. ' 24mm 33seo, 3. - ■ Third-Class Yachts; -.open to yachts of under 24-rating and over 1-rating., Prizes— First, £5 ; second, .£3; third, -21 10?. Entrants—lCotuku, late -Iris (Soagor), scr'; Ripple (Williams',. Imin 4G?eo ; .Greyhound (fleighelt), Imin -4Gsec; Mahaki (Potley), 2min 18300 ; May (Page), 4min Baeo. Owing to not being' up to time the May .did .not start. The Mahina ' was the first to got away, the Kotnku; Eipple and Greyhound followingsin the order named, fihongh she had time allowance, »tho Eipple, admirably handled by Mr Williams, was tho first to arrive homo, not quite throe minutes separating her from the Mahaki. On time the result was Ripple, 2hrs SOoiin 23sae,; 1 j Mahaki, 2hta 34min 25seo, 2; ICotuku, 2fcrs 36min Bseo, 3. First-class Yaohts (Handicap) ; open to yachta of 5-rating and over (sailed in oonjunor tion with the..'postponed First-class 01nb Handicap). Prizes-‘First, : second, jGS ; third, i£3. This ‘race walk-over for the Waitangi, as the Maritana did not compete. The latter will receive .half the first prize, viz., £5. Handicap Yacht Race ; open to . yachts _not competing in any other event. . Prizes,-First, jSS ; s'eoond, JSZ 10*.—This was a walk-over for the Dauntless (Chalmers), fho yachts Jennie Beid; (Black) and Siren, which had also entered, declining to compete against a half-rater. Second-class Yacht Race; open to yachts of 24 and under - 5-rating (sailed in-conjunc-tion with ;tho poetponed- Second-class Club Handicap). Prizes —First, ; second, J 35.; third-, X 3 Jennie Reid and Siren were : first and second reapeotively.ia the Club Han : dicap, witli the Mahina and Atalanta close up. ; * . .
