THE NICARAGUA CANAL.
Received January 21, 1 a,m. ? Washington, January 23. The work of constructing the Nicaragua Canal will occupy sis years, and will cost 1X5,000,000 dollars, supplied by the Treasury. All nations will pay the same canal tolls, and neutrality will bo guaranteed. President McKinley has been, requested to secure the abrogation of tms CJaytonBulwer concession, and also authorised to acquire another route if Nicaragua declines to grant suitable terms.
