TVfOTICE is hereby given that the City XX Council passed the following Resolution at a Special Meeting, held on Wednesday, the 21st day of December, 1898, viz.— The Council of the City of Wellington hereby makes (by- Special Order) the following By-law under and by virtue of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, and all other Acta and powers whatever enabling it in that behalf, such By-law to come into force on the 6th day of February, 1899. - And notice is hereby further given that the said Resolution will.be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council, to be held on Thursday, the 26th day of January, 1899, at 8 o’clock p.m. A copy of the said By-law is deposited for public inspection at tho Office of the City Council, Brandon street, and the object and purport of the said By-law is stated at tho foot hereof. . The object and purport of the abovenamed By-law is as follows: (1) To provide that the plans and particulars required by the Consolidated By-law to be furnished to the City Surveyor shall, when they refer to Hotels, Boarding-houses or Public Buildings, be liable to bo retaipod for 21 days before issue of a permit. (2) To provide that in the case of any application for permission to erect any such building, it shall be lawful lor the ConnSil to impose such conditions as they shall think necessary for the protection of the public, and to require any parts of such buildings to be constructed of different materials and in different manner from those required in Part 3 ot the Consolidated By-law. and may also require any special structures or appliances to be provided to serve as fire escapes. • ■ (3) To provide that no permit shall be issued unless the plans shall show and .include all. particulars required under Clause 2 hereof. 513 IN THE ESTATE OF JAMES DONALD (Late of Featherston, Deceased).
