HOLIDAY EXCURSION TICKETS at rates 2d per mile First-class, Id per mile Second-class (minimum fare 4s and 2a respectively ,- mileage counted one way only), will be issued FROM ANY STATION TO ANY STATION on WELLINGTON - NAPIER - NEW PLYMOUTH SECTION (excepting where ordinary fare is less than minimum excursion fare) from Saturday, 21st, to Tuesday, 24th May, available for return up to and including Tuesday, 31et May, 1898. Note. —ln no case will the through excursion faro via Government line exceed the through excursion fare via Wellington and Manawatu Company’s line, provided that—(a) The fares from Wellington, Silverstream and intermediate stations — to Ashurst, Mafcino Road, Foxton and intermediate stations shall not bo less than the fares io Woodville. (b) The fares from Makino Road, Foxton, Ashurst and intermediate stations —to Silverstream, Wellington and intermediate stations shall not be less than the Cares from Woodville to any of the latter stations. The period for which these tickets are available for return journey may be extended for a further period of* 14 days upon payment of difference in value between the ordinary single fare and half the excursion fare. Application must he made at station to which excursion ticket was issued, and before expiry of same, and the unused portion of excursion ticket be handed in. The journey may be broken at any station at which the train is timed to stop alter a distance of 25 miles has been travelled. Note.— On QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY EXCURSION TICKE TS, whether outward or return, front To Aro, Upper Hutt and intermediate stations—-to Featherston, Masterton and intermediate stations, including Greytown, will not be available by North MAIL TRAIN (leaving To Aro at 7 a.m. and Wellington at 7.15 a.m.). Likewise Excursion Tickets, whether outward or return, from Masterton, Featherston and intermediate stations, including Grey town, will not be available by South MAIL TRAIN (leaving Masterton at 3,57 p.m.). An Excursion Train, by which such tickets will be available, will run between Te Aro and Masterton, leaving Te Aro at 7.53 a.m. (Wellington at 8.5 a m.), and return leaving Masterton at 5.10 p.m. (Featherston at 1i.19 p.m ). ' CHEAP RETURN TICKETS (available on day of issue only) as obtainable on Saturdays a lid Sundays between Te Aro, Upper Hutt and Intermediate stations, will be issued, in either direction, ou 24th MAY, | 1838. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS (Te Aro - Woodville line). The following ordinary trains will not I ron r —7.40 a.m. Masterton to Cross Creek, 6.30 p.m. Upper Hutt to Te Aro, 8.20 p.m. Te Afo to Lower Hutt, 8.40 p.m. Te Aro to Upper Hutt and 9.15 p.m. Lower Hutt to Te Aro. The train usually leaving Lower Hutt for Te Aro at 8.12 a.m. will leave at 8.0 a.m., and will run correspondingly earlier than usual throughout. The train usually leaving Upper Hutt for Te ArO at 7.55 a.m. will leave at 7 45 a.m.; froth'Lower Hutt to To Aro it will run as usual. All other orcSnary trains will run as usual. SPECIAL TRAINS (stopping, it required, at intermediate stations) will run as under: — Between Te Aro and Masterton. —Te’ Aro depart 7.53 a.m., Wellington 8.5, Lower Hutt 8.35, Upper Hutt 9.15, Featherston 11.15, Carterton 12.3 p.m., Masterton arrive 12.30 p.m. Masterton depart (on return journey) 5.10 p.m.,’ Carterton 5.33, Feathorton 6.19, Upper Hutt S 52, IffWer Hutt 0.35, Wellington arrive 10.4, Te Arw arrive 10 15 p.m. Note. —Special trains to and from Greytown will connect With this train on both North and South journeys, leaving Greytown at 11.18 a.m. and 5.48 p.m., awd arriving at Greytown (on return journey) at 31.44 a.m. and 6.13 p.m. . The ordinary 6.5 p m. train Te Aro to Lower Hutt will rnn to Upper Hntt, arriving there at 7.45 p.m. A special train will leave Upper Hutt for Te Aro at 6.5 p.m. Between Te Aro and Lower HuttTe Aro depart 9.5 p.m, foe Lower Hutt.
