HARBOUR BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Harbour Board was held at the Board's offices Thursday. Present—Messr.3 F. H. Fraser (chairman), J. H. Heaton, John Hutcheson, M.E.8., W. Booth, J. B. Blair, T. J. W. Gale, H. Cook and W. Cable.

Leave of absence was granted to Mr N. Beid. The state of the bank books was set out as follows:—Currentaccount, credit balance, £5994 13s lid ; imprest wages account, nil j fixed deposit, .£32,000. Payments were approved as follow s Accounts and wages, £4293 19s' 6d ; progress on contracts,. £IOB 3s 4d ; salaries for May, £407 8s 3d s total, £4Bll 11s Id.

The- Chairman reported that the tender ‘for contract No. 91 for the extension of £he middle north tee of the Queen's Wharf by Mr Maurice O’Connor for the sum of £2546 18s lOd, being the lowest and in order, had been accepted, and the agreement signed by Mr O'Connor, and the bond by the sureties, Messrs Hamilton Gilmer and Frank McFarland, It was resolved that the seal of the Board be affixed to the agreement.

To call for tenders for contract No. 93 for an hydraulic intensifier for use in J shed in connection with the woolpresses there. The recommendations were agreed to. The other business done was in connection with the sinking funds securities.
