The Company invites Tenders for the Purchase of the above-mentioned Lands. The first-named 500 acres is now submitted to the public for the first time. It is rich alluvial soil, extending from the railway line down to the Tokomaru river, and at present consists of standing bash and clearings now covered with flax. The block is subdivided into sections varying from 43 to 72 acres, is admirably adapted for dairying, and is situated close to the Shannon creamery. The 9000 acres in the Tokomaru valley’ is good, rough sheep country, and there is a road into the block from Shannon. The 8000 acres in Blocks 3 and 4, Waionehu, are also within easy distance of Shanpon, and contains some good timber country, and inquiries have recently been received by the Company from sawmillers and others, but the Directors have decided that this land shall again be thrown open to public tender before accepting any offers. The 4500 acres at Te Horo adjoins the Government Block at Waikanae. There is a road to this block from Te Horo station. Lithographic plans and conditions of sale of the above-mentioned lands can be obtained on application to the Secretary, at the Bead Office of the Company, Wellington, or from any of the Company’s stationmastera. Tenders will be accepted up to 5 p.m. on MONDAY, the 23rd day of MAY, and must be accompanied with a deposit of 10 per cent, of tbe purchase money.
