Tbers are 10 in the Birthday Hurdles, 22 in the Flying Handicap, and a similar number in the Welter Handicap—figures that speak for themselves. Ample provision has bean made tor the public in the matter of railway travelling, and it only needs fine Weather to ensure the success of the gathering, Penrose, by Torpedo, has been put into work again at Hastings. > Mr V. Harris, disqualified at Ashburton in connection with the Crescent case, has produced an affidavit showing that he is not the owner of the horse Crescent ran in Mr Harris’ name at [the lata meeting, ever.The English Derby will be raced on Wednesday next.
