MR GLADSTONE’S HEALTH.
ROYAL THANKS TO THE DYING STATESMAN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. — Copyright. London, May 17. The Queen hao sent a touching letter to Mr Gladstone, thanking him for his services to the country and the throne. The Princess of Wales telegraphed—“ I am praying for you." Received May 18, 7 p.m. London, May 17. The latest bulletin reports that Mr Gladstone is becoming more exhausted. THE END APPROACHING. PROBABLY ONLY 24 HOURS TO LIVE. Received May 19, 1.20 o.m. London, May 18. Dr Dobie, who is one of Mr Gladstone’s attendants, states that it is useless to attempt to abate the malignant nasal growth. . The patient’s sufferings are being assuaged by injections of morphia. Unless a decided rally occurs he will probably die within 24 hours from heart failure. He is already almost pulseless.
