The ship Waterloo, which has arrived at Newcastle, reports sighting the ship Crown of India, dismasted and badly damaged, off the South Solitaries on Thursday. She asked assistance.
Two tugs have been despatched. The barque Pendle Hill, which has arrived from Mongonui, met the full force of the late gale. She was hove-to three days, and considerable damage was done to her sails. _____________
