YACHTING.
On Saturday a Ladies’ Bracelet race was held under the auspices of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club. Owing to the lateness of the season there were only five competitors — Waitangi, scratch (nominated by Mrs Jameson) ; Atalanta, lOmin (Mrs Schwartz); Mahina, 13min (Mrs Fell); Kotiri (Miss Petheriok) and Eona (Miss Turnbull), each 15min. The course was from the clubhouse to the Pinnacle buoy and return. The buoy was rounded by Atalanta at 3.11 p.m., with Waitangi and Mahina in close attendance. Beating up, the Waitangi proved unable to overtake the Atalanta. The Atalanta at length was passed_ by the Waitangi, which crossed the finishing line 4h 15min 35seo, bud with only 25seo advantage. The Kotiri followed at 4h 21min’ lOaec, the Mah'na at 4h 25min 30seo, and the Kona at 4h 35min 30aeo, the Atalanta thus winning by the narrow margin of lOsec from the Kotiri. Mr 4. G.
