Primary i scholarship papers.—The competition for the : 50. drawing scholarships offered annually by the Board still continues very keen, the number competing this year being 181. There were 30 competitors-for ttbe 12 second-year ! scholarships. As .these scholarships are only . available t6' those ‘holding a first year r the selection is based upon the candidates --past < year's- work as ; well;, as upon the passes obtained in Jhe second-grade drawing examination. Bight ’ of the candidates were awarded second-grade passes in model and five in freehand drawing. The following is the general summary of the result.—Second-grade art—The most-import-ant feature of this section- la an increase of 25C papers upon last year’s number, and the much belter results'obtained in geometrical, perspective and blackboard draw- , ing. Third-grade art and technology A marked improvement is manifest in the work of the first year’s course subjects, particularly in painting in water colour, from the cast.. The numbers in., the second ; year’s course are considerably less, owing to there being no scholarships open for competition this year.

CLEMENIS TOE 10 TO THE RESCUE “ TIRED NATURES KIND RESTORER.’ BRINGS BACK THE HUE OP HEALTH TO THE WEARY SYSTEM!. A positive cure for General Debility, Weakness,-Lassitude, Headache, Diseased Liver and all Diseases arising from an impoverished nervous system. . Mr W. J. Harper, miner, Cootamundra, N.S.AV., September 13th, 1897:—“In sending you this letter X have two objects in view, first, to thank your valuable Clements Tonic; also to acquaint others suffering as I have and advise . them that, after two years of pain I was absolutely cured by a two months’ course of Clements Tonic, and. it is now four years since I had the first symptoms of rheumatism. I was working in one of the gullies near Young—it was wet and cold weather —living in a tent I was often wet through, the consequence being pains in the kneejoints. I found difficulty in walking. After a time the pain crept upwards to the hip-joints. I then felt almost unable to continue my work. _ I went to Young and got some medicine; but it did no good. I tried many advertised remedies for rheumatism and sciatica, but instead •of s being better I was worse. I was then seized with dysentery. and became very weak and ill —in fact, so ill that I was totally unable to work. A friend of mine said Clements Tonic would give me strength, • and strongly advised me to give it a trial, as he believed in it. I got, same, commenced to. take it, soon felt stronger, and .to my; surprise the dysentery began to disappear. I was overjoyed and oontinned with Clemente Tonic, always improving, and what astonished me most was the rheumatic pains and swellings also became much less, and after a little more than nine weeks* course of Clements Tonic I was quite myself, again, free from rheumatism and dysentery; and have retained good health ever since. Yours truly, W, J. Harper, Miner, Cootamundra, N.S.W.” •
