THE POTTER-BELLEW SEASON.
After a brilliant season of 20 nights at Auckland, during which 12 of tho strongest plays of tho English stage worp produced, necessitating ;a jtremendous strain and groat labour,* Mrs Pol ter, Mir Hollow and William* sou and Masgrovo’s Dramatic Company, that acts as their support, will arrive bore thii morning, per Rotomahana, from the North,and will take a couple of days’ well-deserved rest prior to their opening hero on Monday evening next. The forthcoming season, which also promises, to equal in brilliandy; both artistically dtd financially; that Of tho Northern city, will also bo ond of arduous labour. We are promised nine pieces in 12 nights, plays that ordinary organisations may not even attempt, tho pearls of English and French literature, the great creations of bhakesp’eare, coupled with the magnificent works of Sardod and Dumaa/hf. Tho season will commence with Sardou’a famous work “ LaTosca,” a tragedy in five acts, and ono which in Mrs Potter and Mr Cellew finds its only exponents in the English language. It will bo followed by Alex. Dumas’ fils last work, tho sparkling, comedy “ Francillon,” which was presented to Mrs Potter by the author' after having scon her play Margtfbi'ite Giidntier in fk Camille,” his most famous jflay. THo company specially selected to support Mrs Potter and Mr Bellow includes the boat .dramatic artists
now in the, colonies, namely, Messrs Catbcart, Oily Deoring, Cyril Keightlpy, W. J. Montgomery, 0. It. Berkeley, Edwin Kelly, Wilson Forbes, Orlando Daly, J. L. Middleton, F. Norris, Deuliam, F. Silva, Misses' Linda Raymond, Polly Emory, Mdggio Ford, Bertha Caldwell, Lena Braseh, Mrs Walter Hill and others. On Monday evening a late train will leave (ortho Huttaud intermediate stations, after the performance, departing from To Aro at 11.5 p.m. and from Wellington station at 11.15 p:m.
