The market closed decidedly hector than it opened a week ago. ’ A cablegram received by Mr A. B. Millar confirms the news of the purchase for a large amount of the shares,- together with ample working capital, of the \Taitara and Waitara Extended special claims and the City of Durham licensed holding, situated close to To Aroha, to bo known in future as the Wallace Proprietary. Prospecting operations are very active, and the virgin country in Waipuna riding ia being attacked. The Reef ten gold-returns for the week are :—lCecp-it-Dark, IGffoz amalgam, SO tons.
