Telephone office closes at Martiuborough 5 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races will bo run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Wellington Metropolitan Club. No qualification foe. The saddling bell will ring at 1t.30 a.m. The first race will start at 12 noon sharp. Each race will start punctually at the time appearing in the correct card of the races. No scratching of horses allowed except through the Secretary, and not later than 30 minutes before the time of starting. All nominations and entries to be made in writing, sealed, and addressed to the Secretary ; entrance money to be enclosed, with sex, name, age, pedigree and previous performances of horses, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. The attention of owners is particularly directed to the following : No nomination or acceptance will be accepted without the amount of requisite fees., »>No nomination or acceptance will be accepted aftor time named .under any pretence whatever. No entry will be received for any of the races except upon the conditions that all claims, disputes and objections arising oat of thejraccs shall be dooiied by a majority of the Stewards present, er those whom they* may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall bo final. In case of a protest, jfche same must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within fifteen minutes aftor tho race is run, with a deposit of 2 guineas, such deposit to bo forfeited if tho protest is not sustained.
