A STATE-OWNED CABLE.

It is believed that the Pacific Cable Commission will recommend that a State-owned cable be constructed. A State survey of tho route is necessary. The Commission has adjourned until the 20th December, in order to consult tho Right Hon Mr Chamberlain on the matter,.
