STAR BOATING CLUB. Two more heats of the Stay Boating Club a Double Sculls were rowed last evening In tho seniors W. K. Bondall and KV. iliann boat G. C. Facho and W. 11. I ripe by threequartern of a length, but a foul being claimed tho race will bo rowed again. In the juniors, the final heat was rowed, G. .1 Hold and T, It. Hickson being the winners, boating O. Bcndn.ll and J. Swift by a length and aqrtartci*. H. J.Duiganand C. G. ©colon were same distance behind. The races wore afarted by tho deputy captain, Mr C. Pearce, and judged by the o*pta\n, Mr Cr. H. Bethune. ARAWA SAILING CLt/B. A committee meeting of thn AfaVJ’cfi Sailing Club was hold in the Empire Hotel last night, the rear-commodore, Mr E. M. oiik» in tbo chair. Tlio secretary, Mr Claude M. Banks, mentioned that the prospects of the Club for tho present season were very satisfactory, and that the Club would shortly Do in a better position than in any previous year. There arc five now boats to be raced this season, and several more names are down for membership. Mr F. W. Pctliorick kindly ixiUntatcd ho Intended to present a pair of hold-glasses to Vo rMed for this season, and as usual there is a largo nutubsr 0. prizes, and several more are expected. Thole will also bo a good many races, which will commence on January 9th, and bo continued overy Saturday till the end of tho season. Some of the raejs will bo sailed under tho Mark Foy system of starting the boats according to their time allowance instead of deducting it at tho finish. It was resolved unanimously that Mr T. Y. Wardrop, late commodore of tho Club, bo clocted an honorary lifo member, A boat of the Senior Fairs, Wellington EovVing Club, was rowed last evening, and dleo a heat of trio Junior Fours. Tho results w ore as follows j—Senior Pairs—A. Minogae (bow) and Bilrko (stroke) boat MoAnnally (bow) and Kpencor (stroke). Junior Fours— Gandhi (bow) Tyndall (2), T. JVlinoguo (3), Finildano (stroke) \Voro beaten by Mo iilvray (bow), Sinclair (2Gloeaon (3), Graham (stroke). . ..
