THE FURNITURE TRADE.

At a conference between the employers and employees in the furniture trade a log was agreed upon. All matters in dispute are being amicably arranged. The minimum wage was fixed at 8s per day, and the proportion of apprentices was fixed at one to three journeymen or a fraction thereof. It was decided to only recognise two classes of journeymen and apprentices.
