AT THE EXHIBITION.
On Saturday afternoon and evening the Exhibition had a gala time of it, the cycling sports being the main attraction, but of course this also had the effect of attracting many .visitors to doing a tarn inside the Exhibition.
The youngsters were entertained at intervals with Punch and Judyisma by Mr Birshby, and the working of some of the models was also amusing as well as instructive to thorn. ,
Mr T, J. St. Lawrence Toner drew a good attendance to his organ recital in the afternoon on the Croft organ, when he not o,nly pleased his hearers ‘ with sweet sounds from the instrument, but the vocal renderings, given after the manner of Mr Jude, were well received. Mr Toner has a fino baritone voice, which ho uses ia an enjoyable manner to his own accompaniments. Afternoon visitors will look forward to hearing this gentleman' —who is an amateur with superior talent—give other organ and singing recitals. Messrs Haustnann and Glow's Kinomntograph gave several turns in the Edison Electric Hall, when a change from last week’s programme was put on, the striking item of which was a reversed picture, the traffic and objects of which came back on to the front of the screen instead of disappearing ia the distance. This picture is so real that on Saturday several of the folks who had taken front seats, when they saw a most realistic biko coming at them full tilt—got up hastily and took seats further back. Fact! Visitors who are interested in the incubators, and daily look at those eggs that are to oomo out without the triumphant cluckcluck, are informed that the chicks are to cetne out of their shells to-day, the first batch being due to arrive this morning. Mr Seager will to-night give visitors to the concert hall a lantern exhibition, entitled “A Night With Dickons.” Tho pictures to bo shown have been taken from life models, and are now seen for the first time in New Zealand.
