Consequent upon shearing the attendance of the public was rather meagre, but among them were a few buyers inclined to do business, but at prices showing no improvement- in the trade. Jtetoro the close of the day, ho'.vever, n fair clear“n°® waß effected, amounting to two-thirds to threefourths of the yarding, at subjoined quotations:— Cattle—aj-yoar forward steers, £1 ss; 2} to 3-ycar steers, £3 2s to £3 lls; woanors and yearlings, £1 IDs; dairy cows, £3. Sheep—Fat wethers, 8a; fat owes, 6s to 6s Gd ; early shorn store ewes, 5s 3d : owes and lambs, in the wool, 9s Id; 2-tooth ewes 7s Cd.
