VOLUNTEERS.
Tho City Rifles open their shooting season to-day, and will compete for tho following prizes:—Morning competitions.—A Class— Trophy, £1 10s, and two ammunition prizes. B Class—Trophy, ss, and two ammunition prizes. C Class—Trophy, .£l, and two ammunition prizes. Saturday competitions.—A Class—Trophy, -63, and two ammunition prizes. B Class—j£2 and two ammunition prizes. C Class —£1 and two ammunition prizes. Aggregate prizes for season.—A Class—l, £i 10s; 2, .£1 10s ;3, £l. B Class —l, £1 10s ,• 2, £1 ; 3,10 s. C Class—l, j£L 10s ;2, ;3, 10a ; gold badge to tho highest aggregate scorer in A and B Claes. The season’s aggregate is to embrace all the matches of the season (unless otherwise specified). Tho decision to assist, with a money grant, five men of tho corps, to bo selected by competition, to attend tho Now Zealand Rifle Association’s mooting at Auckland, will tend to make the contests keener than usual. The usual teams match will bo continued. Ammunition will bo sold to members at fid per packet.
